Think you know everything there is to know about flu shots?
Let’s Debunk 3 Common Myths
1. The flu is not that serious, so I don’t need to get a flu shot.
The flu can be very serious and in some cases deadly. Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting a flu shot every year.
2. The flu vaccine could give me the flu.
The flu vaccine contains an inactivated virus that cannot give you the flu. You may experience mild side effects, which may last a day or two.
3. I had the vaccine and still got the flu, so the vaccine doesn’t work.
There are many different strains of the flu. If you received the vaccine and still got sick, the vaccine is more likely to prevent a more severe case of the flu.
